Olympika - Track Events Guidelines

The DIVISIONS:

Girls, 7th-9th grade
Girls, 10th grade and older
Boys, 6th grade and under
Boys, 7th-9th grade
Boys, 10th grade and older

EVENTS:

The events will be as follows:

100m dash
400m dash
1 mile run
Long Jump
Shot Put

ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION:

The SCL and a group of Parent/Chaperone volunteers will be responsible for administrating, organizing, scoring, and tabulating all events. SCL reserves the right to cancel any Track and Field events if inclement weather, lack of participation, or time constraints interfere. SCL, sponsors, and or concerned parents will also have the final say in whether potentially sick/injured students will be allowed to participate. For example, if a student with a broken ankle wishes to participate in the Mile run, we'll probably say no. Not out of discrimination or to discourage competition, but out of concern for the health of the student. Furthermore, if participation is such that one grade group of students has overwhelming participation, we may sub-divide this group or rearrange the groups so as to maintain the best possible equity among participants.
