• Group projects will not be accepted.
• Delegates may enter as many pieces as they wish, but ONLY ONE ENTRY PER MEDIUM/DIVISION MAY BE SUBMITTED PER PERSON (i.e. a delegate may enter one watercolor, one oil/acrylic and one colored ink per convention, but not multiples of any medium/division such as two watercolors or a doll and a piece of jewelry as they fall into the same division).
• This is not a computer contest; computers may only be used in specified categories, such as Computer Enhanced Photography.
• Delegates will register their entries based on their current grade. THE FOLLOWING GRADE DIVISIONS WILL BE USED IN JUDGING: GRADES 6-8 AND GRADES 9-12.
• Projects must be entered in the correct division/medium.
• Projects will not be accepted for judging after the designated Graphic Arts registration time is over.
*The judges retain the right to move projects to more appropriate categories and to combine age groups in order to allow for the most competitive and therefore fairest judging. If you have questions or concerns about the judging please speak with the Graphic Arts Chair at convention (please remember that they are very busy) or speak with your sponsor after convention.

REMEMBER THE JUDGES WANT YOU TO WIN IN THE FAIREST COMPETITION POSSIBLE!

PICTOR ANNI: Artist of the Year
A competition designed to encourage great quantities of the highest quality art!
A prize is given to the artist in each age group who enters the most art that also wins the most valuable ribbons. It is an objective, point based system, encouraging as many entries as possible, as well as entries of the highest caliber. The award is not a ribbon, but a special prize.

ARS FABULOSA: Story art/ Themed Art
A competition designed to encourage artists to think about new media and new ideas as well as encourage new artists to participate!
All art must adhere to and creatively convey the assigned theme. A description of the piece must be provided on the attached 3x5 note card, including how it is relevant to the assigned theme and what media were used as well as any other information relevant to judging. There will be one winner per age group. No computer generated material allowed. The piece can be two dimensional or three dimensional, but either way must be on a firm mat board base. You may use any materials, unless computer generated. For example the piece can be a watercolor, mixed media, a model, a sculpture, etc. If the piece is three dimensional it can be no larger than one cubic foot in dimension; if the piece is two dimensional it must be no smaller than 8 ½ x 11 inches and no larger than 16 x 20 inches. The award is not a ribbon, but a special prize.

THIS YEAR’S THEME:
Myths of Constellations (Fabulae Siderum)

Think creatively, both in the subject and the media used; the judges will take this into account.

ARS ANNI: People’s Choice
A competition where the winner is a piece voted the best by the convention attendees.
Each piece is assigned a number and the attendees vote on which piece is the best, in their opinion, using the assigned number. Whichever piece receives the most votes during the designated voting time, wins the competition. Votes must be submitted during the designated time and on the supplied ballot or it will not count. Pieces that were disqualified during judging will not be eligible to participate in this competition. There will be only one winner out of all the entries. The award is not a ribbon, but a special prize.
